having met richard for the progression tutorial, and having presented my ideas/potential question titles, we decided on one that worked best for what i wanted to know and what i wanted to argue:

TO WHAT EXTENT HAS COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY INFLUENCED VISUAL AND VERBAL LANGUAGE IN ENGLAND?

from this i went on to draft a quick plan which then informed my more in depth plan.

this was really helpful as it established my direction and content and enabled me to be more focussed in my research.
